next saturday i'll have the day off, at the classes, so I'll try to rest a little bit. that means trying not to use the computer (or the least i can cause i work with it all the time) and this is because i'm too tired: i read, type, watch a lot each day, then i've also started to have a big pain from my right hand up to the neck. the worst part is that I draw/paint with that hand and also I bookbind, so I really need to give it a rest so that the pain goes away. so it's probable I won't be writing any emails for the next 10-15 days. I really do appreciate all the comments you all leave, it's the energy that makes many of us keep on, but this is necessary; i don't want it to become worse. thanks again. martín.

life sketch
this one in pencil let me do some more details, though the paper was too soft and the pencil seemed to get into it. it's a derwent water soluble, it's line is different form the normal graphite.

EDM challenges 55 & 128 - first try
55 - Draw a doorknob, plain or fancy // 128 - Draw a view through a doorway from one interior room to another
the view to the other room is not visible in the sketch, of course, cause i was wating to enter, at the doctor's. she sees her patients in there. i'll re-make these challenges.

coffee and salt
finally after several months, i did try with coffee, as suggested by several from EDM but especially by the idea of Claudia (time passages) creating a flickr pool. i saw the salt worked well on the coffee, better than on watercolours i'd say. you have to try it, it's fun. gonna work some more with this technique but won't add any marker lines, though.
i used as model another sketch from last saturday too.

magnolias -now finished
i started this one about 3 years ago. for different reasons yesterday i gave some touches and now i call it finished. they were plastic flowers, and i hadn't got the "model" since that long ago, so I made all the adding last time i showed it (here)
and now as they came out from my mind. so these aren't real flowers AT ALL!!!

i made this small oil trying to repeat the pose from one of the sketches i did saturday afternoon, but it's not the same than having the model standing in front...

illustration
a friend of mine asked me to do an illustration for a friend of hers' blog. that girl is an actress and wanted a fun illustration out of a photo. i took only the image of her face to do the drawing. in the end i think she won't use it. anyway i decided to post it here cause it took me a lot of time to make it & i like it.

EDM challenge # 139 - draw something with a handle
this time my home's kettle. marker, ink and "dry marker" colour pencils by staedtler. an additions
of planes with the paint shop pro.
the survey i did let me know that half of the times I spoil my work when i'm trying to enhance it
digitally. that reminded me of that saying ...sometimes a step forward is a step back(wards)...
anyway, i coulnd't help adding the colour planes this time...

EDM challenge # 9 - organized chaos
EDM challenge # 9 - Draw a bit of "organized chaos" - your messy desk, your table stacked with books, etc.
a piece of the kitchen table last night. maker, green and blue ink and orange and red "staedtler dry marker" pencils.
this piece looks "organized" but the whole was a "chaos", as I usually do when I'm working, pencils, inks, everything everywhere= absolute unorganized chaos
