study on Vermeer's painting

my study on the painting by master Johannes Vermeer, The girl with the pearl earring, which last week, I read, new studies have said it's a silver or maybe lead earring and not a pearl, who cares? His works are masterpieces in art history.

This is a mixed media work i started yesterday, which is in fact a sort of "shapes and colours" study for another study in oil. I like to take lessons from the masters whenever I can, though I'll never get that far of course.

i will be finishing some final details in the furniture/wall, perhaps in some parts of the skin but now without the model posing.
