selfportrait

a new mirror + me alone at the studio= self portrait. only an hour to do it. the ressults are at sight. when i come back i'll need to retouch some parts. mouth, eyebrows, nose, chin, ears, hair, cheeks, shoulders, clothing, background, and... i think some white gesso throughout the surface would do perfectly, two layers will be enough, mmm, 3 perhaps...?

LOL...I think it's a most interesting self portrait, wonderful use of colour and I love how it's finished/unfinished at the bottom.

The color choices are edgy and effective; and you have skillfully captured a certain 'quality' in the eyes-paired with the mouth-that definitely belongs to no one else but this person...whom I assume you know well(!).

THis is a great sp. I'm working on one myself, but I always hate them when I'm finished. Maybe I should just draw what I wish I looked like? lol! I love the colors you used. That's one thing I am not good at and I'm still learning. Color. And trying to read about color theory is just sooooo dry. I'd rather look at other artist's works and see how they use color.
