Drawing the Human Figure (beginners) - (WTD15)

The human figure is one of the most portrayed themes in the history of art. In this series of classes we will see how to represent the human figure in many different ways. There will be a brief intro with examples, then you will sketch and draw from classic artworks and/or some photographs for the rest of the workshop time. These are not demonstration classes; They are live on Zoom, not pre-recorded.

For this class you need to have some drawing paper, A4 to A3 size, some regular charcoal (not compressed), from diameters 0.5 to 1 cm, a piece of cotton cloth to clean, a kneaded eraser. If you prefer, instead, have a 6B graphite pencil and a sharpener or a black ink pen.

Drawing From a Work of Art - Studying the Masters (I)

Continuing with the series of Drawing and Painting Classes, Ways to Draw and Paint, this time we will see what the most important elements of the visual language are and how they are all put together to make a composition. Before doing our own drawings or paintings we need to study what the artists that came before us did in the past, those great works of art teach us big lessons, so let's learn from the masters and their works.

Have some paper and art supplies on hand to make your own work of art. You'll get more instructions when you get the confirmation email after registering for this workshop.

Drawing Animals (I) - Ways to draw - Drawing and Painting Classes (WTD10)

Today we'll try to spot the important things that help us build a drawing. Axis, shapes, proportions, etc. Then we'll draw after photos.

There are many different ways to draw but one of the most common is to spot the main axis, the simplest basic shapes, the proportions as a way to build our figures. This time we´'ll be paying attention to these, then make our drawings based on some photographic references.

You´'ll need to have: A4 to A3 drawing paper - Charcoal, Colored pencils, graphite pencil or a ballpoint pen - Kneaded/regular eraser - If using charcoal you'´ll need a piece of cloth to clean - Pencil Sharpener

This online class is designed for beginners (ages 14 and up). The vacancies are few. This is not a demo class, and it's not pre-recorded. Sometimes the topic of a class might be the same but the class is not, and neither the activities or images we draw.
